Let Your Voice Be Heard!
As the Great Lakes Graphics Association and the Illinois Press Association continue to work towards reinstatement of the Graphic Arts Machinery and Equipment Exemption and Manufacturers Purchase Credit in the State of Illinois, it is critical that our UNITED voice is heard in Springfield.
Our legislators need to hear from you on how this loss affects you personally and your business in Illinois.
Step one: Meet and call your local legislators.
Step two: Write your local legislators. Let your legislators know what the economic impact is to your business, your community and the state.
Step three: Invite your local legislators to your plant to tour and see what you do and combine that tour with some of your key suppliers.
Step four: Attend the Legislative Drive-In in Springfield on April 23, 2015, to meet, greet and discuss our position. Contact Bill Gibson, GLGA Illinois Director, today at (312) 704-5000 or firstname.lastname@example.org to claim your place in the delegation.
- If you need your state Senator’s and Representative’s contact information, you can obtain names, addresses, and phone numbers at the Illinois State Board of Elections’ District/Official look-up website.
- Download a sample letter to your local legislators.
- Download a FAQ sheet with talking points.
- Event page for the Legislative Drive-In on April 23, 2015. More information will be available soon.
The future of your company and Illinois’ print industry depends on everyone’s active involvement. Let’s work together to bring back what we have lost and further our position as a necessary industry to the rebuilding of the State.
