PagePath and Xerox Alliance Announced FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Xerox And Pagepath Announce MyOrderDesk™ Web-Based Job Submission Services NEW YORK, Feb. 28, 2001 - Xerox Corporation today announced new and enhanced solutions for producing personalized and just-in-time (JIT) documents through Web-enabled work processes that can help print providers profit and grow. The agreement with PagePath Technologies, Inc. gives print providers a way to quickly establish Web-based print job submissions with PagePath's MyOrderDesk. "Xerox is leading the way in helping print providers develop their businesses, by delivering end-to-end solutions that take the complexity out of implementing digital-printing-based services," said Tom Dolan, president, Global Solutions Group, Xerox Corporation." To permit print providers to quickly and easily offer Web-based job submissions and avoid the hassles of corrupted e-mail attachments, Xerox will bundle demos of the MyOrderDesk hosted service from PagePath Technologies with all DocuTech Production Publishers. The Windows- and Macintosh-based solution provides PagePath hosted submission services that permit customization of Web pages and include easy job and file transfer, customer job tickets, soft-proofing of files online, easy retrieval of jobs and files, automatic file compression, and instant notification of job arrivals and proof approvals. Installation takes about 10 minutes and does not require technical expertise or an onsite server - only a Web browser and e-mail account. Xerox is the exclusive distributor of MyOrderDesk among printer manufacturers. MyOrderDesk demo CDs will be bundled with every Xerox DocuTech distributed in the United States beginning April 23. There are five versions of the service: Trial, Basic, Professional, Advanced, and Extended. Monthly operating charges range from free for the Trial Package up to a maximum of $270 a month for the Extended version. There is a $300-$600 one-time setup fee for the chargeable versions.
